Yes, there is a relatively new, great sounding Christian band out there named “We The Kingdom,” (and they’re worth checking out), but No, this is not an article about them! It is about you, fellow believer, and me.

The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you”

Jesus in Luke 17: 20b-21

Where ever the King has authority, there is His Kingdom.

When I am born again, through repentance and baptism, I die to myself and King Jesus puts a new spirit in me – the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ. SO THERE IS THE KINGDOM! IN ME! AND IN ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE RECEIVED HIM!

THERE IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN! WE THE KINGDOM!

So as we let Jesus manifest Himself in us, so His Kingdom is seen, felt, experienced and displayed through us. How awesome!

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven…..

Jesus in Matthew 6: 10

We bring the Kingdom of Heaven here to earth when we do the will of the King. Jesus only did what the Father told Him, so it is possible for me to only do what the Spirit of Jesus (That lives in me) tells me.

I can see some of you who know me (no… ALL of you who know me), raising at least one eyebrow at that………

Am I saying everything I do is what Jesus tells me to do? Sadly no. I wish. The Spirit is not physical but spirit. It cannot mix with the physical, so I have within me a battle between my flesh ( and mind, will & emotions) and my spirit.

“Spirit can mix with spirit, or interpenetrate, unlike physical matter. When a carpenter makes a chair, he does not become part of the chair. It is impossible. However , it is possible for us to be in union with God. We are spirit beings made ‘in the image of God‘ (Genesis 1: 26-27). In receiving the Spirit of Messiah we are ‘joined to the Lord‘ and become ‘one spirit with Him’ (1 Corinthians 6:17). Our spirit becomes one with His Spirit, ‘Our bodies are he temple of the Spirit’ and God is spoken of as ‘dwelling in us and walking in us and walking in us'” (2 Corinthians 6:16)

Norman Grubb, It’s as Simple as This (Blowing Rock NC:Zerubbable Press, 2005), 8-9.

So the more I say NO to being led by my flesh, my desires, my fickle emotions, my reasonings and say YES to what the Spirit of Jesus in me says, the more I will be like King Jesus and the more of His Kingdom will be seen in and around me.

My rebellious, sinful spirit died in the waters of baptism. Now it is the Sprit of Jesus who lives in me.

So believers, press on! WE CAN MANIFEST THE KINGDOM! Imagine more of the signs, miracles, compassion, and uncompromising, courageous love of Jesus impacting the lives of people around us. How glorious! All around us people who are like Jesus. That is the KINGDOM of HEAVEN right there.
